Demi Lovato has dressed up as French queen Marie Antoinette for a Halloween party.
The singer/actress kicked off her celebrations for the upcoming spooky holiday on Friday by posting two selfies on Instagram (click here to see both) showing her wearing an elaborate costume made of pale blue satin and gold lace. Demi topped off her ensemble with white tights and shoes as well as a huge blonde wig, while she wore a layer of heavy white make-up on her face.
"Halloween round 1... I told y'all I don't play on Halloween!! It's my time to shine," the 27-year-old captioned the snaps, before crediting her glam team - Etienne Ortega and Paul Norton - for their work.
Demi didn't share the name of the Halloween event she was attending, but a number of her celebrity followers were quick to praise her commitment to the look.
Will & Grace actress Debra Messing wrote, "AMAZINGGGGGGG!!!!!!" while singer Cher Lloyd added: "Wow!!!" with heart face and fire emojis.
Marie Antoinette, who was the last queen of France before the French Revolution in 1789, has been the subject of many films, including Sofia Coppola's 2006 movie, which starred Kirsten Dunst.
In previous years, Demi has attended various Halloween parties dressed up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, a sexy police officer, a beauty pageant queen, and as late singer Selena Quintanilla.
The Skyscraper hitmaker is making a slow return to the spotlight, having spent much of the past year recovering from an opioid overdose in July 2018. Her upcoming projects include a recurring role on the final season of Will & Grace as well as a part in comedy movie Eurovision alongside Will Ferrell.
