For the first time in two years, Montrealers will be able to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade after it being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the end of February, the Montreal United Irish Society made the announcement that the parade will make its comeback on Sunday, March 20th at 9:30am.

According to Global News, “Organizers estimate there will be some 500 people, mostly from the Irish community. They will walk in the event, which is far less than the 3,000 parade goers that normally participate.”

The parade will also be stretched out longer this year, to allow parade-goers more room for physical distancing. This year, the parade will start from Ste-Caterine and Lambert-Closse Street to Union Street, right in front of the Bay store.

The parade will start earlier than other years to allow for a more family-friendly environment. That being said, organizers encourage Montrealers to enjoy the Irish spirit with a sponsored pub tour in downtown Montreal.

Will you be attending tomorrow's big street party?
