For years now, Montrealers have been anticipating STM's blue line extension (it's only the first metro extension Montreal has seen in decades!)
Extending beyond the blue line's St-Michel station, 5 new stops are planned to be added: Pie-IX, Viau, Lacordaire, Langelier and Anjou.
The STM revealed a few weeks ago who the five artists designing the new stations would be. Ludovic Boney, Jocelyne Alloucherie, Alain Paiement, Marc Séguin and Nadia Myre will each have the honour of bringing the new stations to life!
Now here's what you've all been waiting for... the latest update on the extension project.
Next month, preparatory excavation measures will resume on Baunard Street, followed by more digging in the Langelier area this summer. Montrealers can expect more construction to come over the summer in the Viau, Lacordaire, Saint-Michel and Pie-IX stations. In other words, expect a whole new landscape in these regions by the fall!
Stay tuned on Wednesday this week, as the STM team will virtually meet with residents of the Anjou area (you can even participate in this meeting by clicking here!)
