Bad news for night-time drivers in Montreal, the Décarie Expressway will be closed overnight.

Quebec’s Transport Department said that the closure was necessary to work on a covered pedestrian overpass linking de la Savane métro station to the Royalmount mall development in Outremont.

Here’s what you need to know about the closures and how it will affect your travels:

Starting with the Décarie Boulevard North service road, the section will be closed between Rue de la Savane and Manella Road from Friday at 10pm until Saturday at 7am.

Highway 15 South will be closed between the Décarie Interchange and the on-ramp at De Sorel Street from Friday at 11:59 pm until Saturday at 6pm. Due to these closures, the ramps from A-40 East toward A-15 South, A-40 West toward A-15 South and Marcel-Laurin Boulevard toward A-15 South will be closed.

Quebec’s transport department said that poor weather conditions or other issues may lead to the work being extended, canceled or postponed to the next day.
