Willow Smith has admitted she feels some "insecurity" about being a "nepo baby."
The daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith believes having famous parents has made her work even harder to achieve her goals.
"I definitely think that a little bit of insecurity has driven me harder because people do think that the only reason I’m successful is because of my parents," she said in an interview with Allure magazine. "That has driven me to work really hard to try to prove them wrong. But nowadays, I don’t need to prove s**t to anybody."
Willow, 23, added, "I truly believe that my spirit is a strong spirit and that, even if my parents weren’t who they were, I would still be a weirdo and a crazy thinker."
Willow made her acting debut aged seven, alongside her dad in the movie I Am Legend. When she was 10, she released the hit song, Whip My Hair, which went platinum.
"I was totally scarred," she said of being so young when the song took off. "But so many Black girls and women were inspired by that."
Willow's sixth album Empathogen is due for release on 3 May.
