The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) announced earlier this week that it will discontinue seven bus routes in the city. The boroughs most affected are LaSalle, Lachine, Sud-Ouest, Verdun, and Ville-Marie.
The STM stated that these cancellations are due to reconfigured and merged lines aimed at improving efficiency. Despite these changes, new routes will be introduced to enhance neighbourhood accessibility.
The seven routes being cancelled are:
- 15 Sainte-Catherine
- 58 Wellington
- 75 de la Commune
- 78 Laurendeau
- 109 Shevchenko
- 116 Lafleur/Norman
- 191 Broadway/Provost
Additionally, the 406 Express Newman will be eliminated. These routes will be discontinued starting August 26, 2024.
