Montreal has announced a new initiative to address the homelessness crisis. By March of next year, the city aims to construct 60 modular housing units to provide temporary accommodations for individuals experiencing homelessness.

These units will offer a variety of living arrangements, including single rooms, rooms for couples, and accommodations for those with reduced mobility.

The developments will also include common areas and sanitary facilities, with plans to house 30 units in each of the two developments.

While these modular units offer a swift, temporary solution, Robert Beaudry, a member of the city executive committee responsible for housing, emphasized that they are not intended to serve as homeless shelters.
