If you were looking forward to the reopening of Saint-Michel metro station, you might be disappointed.
According to a press release from the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), it could still be several weeks before the station reopens.
The station was closed on the evening of October 3rd due to significant damage to a main beam above the track, which required immediate closure for safety reasons.
The STM stated that the following actions have been taken so far:
- Inspection and data collection on-site
- Design and planning of technical solutions for site security and structural repairs, in collaboration with the contractor
- Development of an implementation strategy based on the station’s layout
- Custom fabrication of certain components
- Procurement and mobilization of the necessary materials for repairs
The STM also shared that the reopening date will be announced as soon as possible.
In the meantime, a dedicated shuttle bus is operating along this part of the blue line in both directions.
