Anne Hathaway has described her 2023 Met Gala look as "one of her favourite dresses of all time".
The Devil Wears Prada actress hit the red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in May 2023 wearing a strapless white tweed gown with a curvy full-body slit joined together with gold safety pins.
The look was created by designers at Versace as a homage to Chanel as that year's Met Gala theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
Reflecting on the outfit for Vogue's Life in Looks video series, Hathaway gasped and said, "This is one of my favourite dresses of all time. I know you're not supposed to have favourites, it's like children, but this one was really, really special. It was a magnificent garment. I wish you could see the insides of it, the way it was constructed was just incredible."
Weeks before the glitzy fashion night, the Oscar-winning actress had been unveiled as the face of Versace, with her being tapped to front the campaign for the brand's Icons collection.
Accordingly, Hathaway went on to praise the Italian fashion house's creative director, Donatella Versace.
"She has so much power, not just because of the Versace name but who she is," she gushed. "She herself as an individual has so much power and the way she uses it, the way she brings people closer together, the way she treats people like family, her level of thoughtfulness, she's a wonderful person. I feel really lucky that we're in each other's lives."
