Camila Cabello has discussed repairing the friendships she lost in the explosive collapse of Fifth Harmony.

The 27-year-old Havana singer was an original member of Fifth Harmony - who were formed on the American version of The X Factor in 2012.

She joined fellow stars Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei to create the group and released smash hits including Work From Home and Boss.

Cabello shocked her co-stars when she quit the band in December 2016, with the remaining four then releasing a third album before going on hiatus in 2018.

Reflecting on her time in the girl group to Nylon magazine, Cabello said her anxiety, 'was more than a person should bear (in that situation)."

She explained, "I think conflict resolution is really important, especially when it comes to a group. Those are skills you don't have when you're 16 years old. How do you deal with being left out?

"How do you deal with jealously? How do you deal with these things without hurting yourself or other people."

She revealed she has begun to rebuild her friendship with Kordei, 28, who she reconnected with at Paris Fashion Week in September.

The Señorita singer told the publication, "I remember times when we'd just be laughing so hard.

"With space, we can go back and tap into that. The past couple of times I've seen her, I say something and she laughs really hard. It doesn't feel like we're strangers. We're getting back to the times when we really close."
