Environment Canada has issued a special weather alert for Montreal residents.
According to the agency, an "explosive coastal development" is expected overnight on Wednesday, bringing significant rainfall and temperatures above the freezing mark.
The alert also warns of strong winds accompanying the system. Additionally, a sudden drop in temperatures on Thursday morning could cause freezing on various surfaces, posing risks for travel and outdoor activities.
Environment Canada advises reconsidering non-essential travel plans during this period to ensure safety.
