Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has died at the age of 100. The news was confirmed by his son, though no immediate cause of death was provided.

Carter served as U.S. President from 1977 to 1981 and in 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for promoting peace, democracy, and human rights around the world.
