Montreal and the surrounding regions are feeling the effects of the polar vortex, which has caused a widespread power outage.

On Tuesday morning, starting around 6:30 AM, more than 100,000 homes in Montreal lost power due to an equipment failure caused by overuse of the grid, according to Hydro-Québec.

Although the company has managed to restore power to some customers, crews are still working to resolve the issue.

As of 10:30 AM, over 30,000 homes across Québec remain without electricity.

If your home is affected, you can track the power outage here.
