Lady Gaga has revealed that she contemplated hanging up her microphone to quit music.
The 38-year-old star has exploded back into the spotlight this month with the release of her new single, Abracadabra, which is rocketing up the charts around the world.
However, the singer has admitted that she did consider giving up her life in the spotlight as she came to miss the close ones that she left behind when her work took her across the globe.
Appearing on the hit YouTube talk show Hot Ones on Thursday, Gaga was asked, "What's the closest you've ever come to walking away?"
Between bites of flaming hot chicken wings, the singer replied, "I missed the community that I had in New York, and that was really hard... There were definitely times where I felt like maybe I should walk away."
She quickly added, "I know for sure that I never would. I would definitely say that I was tested, and I always didn't give up. And I'm still doing it, so it must mean I want to do it."
This year has got off to a good start for Gaga who suffered low points in 2024 - with her Olympic Games performance receiving mixed reviews, her blockbuster film Joker: Folie à Deux tanking at the Box Office and her comeback single, Disease, flopping in the charts.
In contrast, her new track has been celebrated by fans as a return to form - with her upcoming album, titled Mayhem, now hotly anticipated with its release scheduled for 7 March.
