Following two massive snowstorms that dumped more than 70 cm of snow on Montreal, there will be no waste collection in the city this week.

Philippe Sabourin, a spokesperson for the City of Montreal, announced the suspension on Monday, asking residents to keep their garbage, brown bins, and recycling at home for the time being.

He also noted that many sidewalks remain buried under snow and urged Montrealers to be patient and cooperative as cleanup efforts continue.

The city received 34 cm of snow last Thursday and another 38 cm on Sunday.
