Chappell Roan has been hit with a backlash after making comments about parenting.
The 27-year-old musician last week revealed she has been in a happy relationship with another woman for the past six months - but also shared her views about parenting.
In a wide-ranging interview with the Call Her Daddy podcast, Roan hinted that she did not plan to start a family of her own when asked if she would consider having children.
She said, "All of my friends who have kids are in hell. I have not met anyone who is happy or has light in their eyes who has a child under five, at this age, I have not met anyone who has slept."
However, her comments have sparked something of a backlash among fans - with those who do have children taking umbrage with her views.
One unimpressed fan lashed out via an online comment, stating, "This is why you only vent about parenting to other mum friends who get it. Her viewpoint is so out of touch and disappointing. We need to celebrate motherhood."
However, others connected with the Pink Ponyclub singer - with one declaring they had "never related more" to the statement that "motherhood is hell."
Elsewhere in her Call Her Daddy interview, Roan urged her fans to embrace being single - even though she has found love herself.
She gushed, "Be single. Stop dating. Be single. Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can a hundred per cent be O.K. alone before you date. That's what I found out. I had a great time when I was single, and I know that I'll be O.K., and now, I have an awesome time that I'm with someone."
