Ed Sheeran was once left red-faced after he locked himself out of a hotel room while naked.
During an interview for the Call Her Daddy podcast on Wednesday, host Alex Cooper asked the singer-songwriter to name his most embarrassing drunken moment.
In response, Ed recounted how he went out to a bar with his "best mate" after a show in an undisclosed city in Europe in either 2018 or 2019.
"I've never said this publicly, but I'm gonna say it," he sighed. "I got up in the middle of the night to have a pee, and I was sleeping naked. I walked out to have a pee, and then I hear a door close. I open my eyes and I'm in the corridor naked, no key, it's like 4 a.m."
However, Ed quickly realised there were security cameras in the hotel's hallways.
"I'm like, 'Ohhh, this is not good,'" the 34-year-old continued. "Someone had room service, and I went to go and get the napkin. I put the napkin on, clicked the lift, went down to the lobby - bear in mind, it's like 4 a.m. - there's people working in the hotel."
As Ed approached the employees for help, he noticed their "eyes widen" and begged them not to tell anyone else.
The Shape of You hitmaker also requested his security guard get all footage of the incident "wiped".
"He might have kept it for blackmail later on down the line. I think that was the most embarrassing thing I've ever done," he joked, noting that it was a "very human mistake".
"I then bought pyjamas. I started sleeping in pyjamas," the British star laughed.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Ed revealed he is staying sober while on the publicity tour for his upcoming eighth studio album, Play.
"I'm sober at the moment so that's definitely helping the not doing stupid s**t," he added. "I saw the schedule for this year of (my) album release. I'm basically flying all around the world and then flying home and being 'dad' as well. I don't want to then add on an extra layer of tiredness on that, so I'm just going to not drink and be very focused and energised."
Ed shares two daughters with his wife Cherry Seaborn.
