At his press conference this morning, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the government is extending the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy by another 3 months.

This means it will now be in place at least until the end of August instead of the first week of June. He also said that the government will be broadening the eligibility for the wage subsidy and more details are still to come.

The prime minister also announced 450 million dollars in wage support to universities and health research institutes so they can retain their researchers and labs during these times.
