Shania Twain is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her GRAMMY-winning breakthrough album The Woman in Me with what she is calling a “Diamond Edition.”
The pop/country icon made the announcement Friday morning during her appearance on Good Morning America on ABC.
Available October 2, via Mercury Nashville/UMG Recordings, Inc., the Diamond Edition includes remastered versions of all 12 genre-busting songs as well as remixes, live versions, and previously unreleased tracks.
The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition will be available in four formats: A limited-edition clear vinyl; a standard vinyl; a 2-CD set and a 3-CD set with a hardcover book, and a digital download.
The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition includes a 48-page booklet containing liner notes from Twain, a 3,000-word essay written by pop-culture journalist Eve Barlow, and photographs from John Derek, Albert Sanchez, Mark Tucker, Bo Derek, and Alexander E. Harbaugh.
Released in February 1995, The Woman in Me is Twain’s second album and spent 29 weeks at the top of the country chart. From there, it went on to sell more than 20 million copies and earn the Ontario-born superstar a Grammy for Country Album of the Year.
Eight of the 12 songs from The Woman in Me appeared on Billboard's country singles chart, with four — "Any Man of Mine," "(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!" "You Win My Love" and "No One Needs to Know" — reaching No. 1. " Shortly after, Shania Twain became the most popular country music artist since Garth Brooks. The rest, as they say, is history.
