Ashley Graham is overjoyed the fashion industry is changing after she featured in a groundbreaking plus-size shoot for Vogue Italia.
The 33-year-old model appeared alongside Alva Claire, Paloma Elsesser and Jill Kortleve for the stunning black-and-white spread in the fashion bible, which celebrated body positivity.
Ashley took to Instagram to share images from the shoot, and she spoke of her pride at being able to help empower a generation of women and girls to be body confident.
"What an honor to be a part of this incredible shoot with these beautiful ladies. For 21 years, I have watched this industry change before my own eyes and it makes me so proud to stand next to these three women, thinking of the next generation who will get to see themselves reflected," Ashley wrote.
"It is no longer only the token curvy girl, but now an entire class of models of all shapes, races, sizes, and backgrounds beginning to be embraced. Being able to support one another and lift each other up has made all the difference," she added, noting that she couldn't wait to celebrate the groundbreaking shoot with Alva, Paloma and Jill.
In the accompanying interview in Vogue Italia, the women spoke of their experiences as plus-size models, as Ashley called them "pioneers" for making waves in the fashion industry.
"Like it or not, girls, we are pioneers, which makes our job not always easy," she quipped.
