7 trees have gone missing, 2 were cut down
Earlier this year, the St-Laurent Boulevard business association set up twenty-five Christmas trees along St-Laurent Boulevard in hopes to help bring holiday cheer to residents passing by.
Now the merchant's association says the festive Christmas tree installations have been disappearing over the past two weeks.
According to the business association, 9 of its twenty-five trees have been stolen, including their lights, and their bases.
The so-called “Grinches of St Laurent” were so organized, they’ve completely cut one of the eight trees at its base.
Now, signs with a photo of a Grinch stealing a tree will be posted along the street, asking residents for help in finding the thieves.

Tasha Morizio, the director-general of the Société de Développement du Boulevard Saint-Laurent told CBC, "It's been an exceptionally hard year for businesses so we all felt that we needed to add a little bit of joy and magic to the Christmas season".
"We decided to put some trees all along the boulevard and in the matter of two weeks, we've had seven vandalized and completely stolen from the street."
In the meantime, Morizio says her organization is taking it seriously and has filed a police report.
