More often than not, when you search the top-selling albums of the year, the top results will usually just show the most popular albums sold in the United States. Well, if you are curious to know what the results look like in Canada, Nielsen SoundScan published a list of the Top Canadian Albums in Billboard magazine, and for the most part, the results are what I expected. Apart from maybe AC/DC, the usual suspects such as Michael Bublé, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga all make an appearance. In total, there are nine Canadian albums and three artists (The Weeknd, Pop Smoke, and Taylor Swift) appear at least twice on the list.
These are the Canadian number-one albums of 2020.
