It can sometimes seem hard for couples to carve out quality alone time. After working all day, taking care of the kids, or tending to other responsibilities, couples are often left with little time at the end of the day to relax and enjoy each other’s company. One thing that can help, however, is structure.
Whether it’s an hour or a handful of minutes, all that matters is that both individuals finish the day on a positive note. And having a few nighttime rituals can go a long way in strengthening the bond between you and your better half.
Not long ago, we asked Montrealers to share the thoughtful things their partners can do that make their evenings that much better. Below is a list of some of the feedback we received.
Ten things happy couples do before going to bed…
Ditch their devices.
Intentionally make time to connect.
Make physical contact.
Go to bed at the same time when possible.
Keep the bedroom kid-free.
Keep the bedroom pet-free.
Have a conversation.
Forget about work.
Never forget to cuddle.
Look into each other’s eyes.
