Natalie Portman has slammed body shaming tabloid reports as she shuts down rumours she is pregnant.
The 39-year-old actress took to social media to fire back at speculation she was expecting her third child after she was recently spotted out and about in Sydney, Australia, while filming the Marvel blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder.
Editors at the New York Post's Page Six published photographs of her wearing gym gear, a baseball cap and a face mask in an article that suggested she was pregnant, alongside the headline: "Natalie Portman steps out seemingly with a baby bump in Sydney".
The Oscar-winning actress shared a screenshot of the offending news story on her Instagram Stories, and blasted the publication for body shaming her.
"Hey, so I'm totally not pregnant," Portman wrote. "But apparently it's still ok in 2021 for anyone to speculate and comment on a woman's body shape whenever they want? Do better @nypost."
The article also suggested that the case of her pregnancy was "strengthened" as she was snapped on set riding a horse while wearing a loose-fitting hoodie.
The actress is mother to two children – son Aleph, eight, and three-year-old daughter Amalia – with husband Benjamin Millepied, who she met while filming the 2010 thriller Black Swan.
Portman will reprise her role as Dr. Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder, opposite Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale and Tessa Thompson, which is set to be released in February 2022.
