Billie Eilish wore a green and black wig for two months while undergoing her hair transformation.

The Bad Guy hitmaker debuted her new bright blonde hue in a record-breaking Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing to her fans and followers that she'd ditched her signature neon green and black mullet.

"Pinch me", Billie wrote alongside a snap of her dramatic new look, and later reposted the picture in her Instagram Stories with the caption: "BYE GREEEEEN."

Billie then teased fans in a video on TikTok, and seemingly confessed she had been wearing a wig to the 2021 Grammy Awards by lifting up her hairpiece.

On Thursday, she finally came clean about her transition to blonde locks, and said on TikTok that she'd been wearing a wig for "like two months" in order to protect her hair while it was being bleached.

Billie's hairstylist Lissa Renn then posted a since-deleted video of the entire hair-dye process on Instagram, revealing that the process took "six weeks".

Lissa later shared a series of snaps of the Grammy winner's new look after it was completed in the salon, with the pair posing in face masks.

"So proud & honored! Billie has been a client of ours 6+ years now, so fun to watch her grow and evolve as an artist and woman. I am incredibly grateful for her trust in me to create her new style & the beginning of a new era!" Lissa wrote.

Billie's picture of her new blonde 'do has also broken records on social media, as her Instagram photo on Wednesday gained more than one million likes in just six minutes, with the like count currently standing at more than 19 million.
