Looks like some Quebec students won’t be going back to school on Monday after all…

Weather reports are showing that the first real snowstorm is set to hit the Montreal area on Monday morning with an estimated 20cm of snow.

While Montreal has had it relatively easy when it comes to snowfall and cold weather this winter, we will start to see a significant shift after this weekend.

Friday is expected to have temperatures drop below -20C at night and continue through to Saturday with a low of -30C. We should see temperatures warm up as we get closer to Monday, as the snowfall slowly approaches.

This will be the first real snowfall warning of the season, which makes us wonder if students will be able to return to class after the Quebec government announced that in-person learning will resume on Monday.

Make sure to tune in to The Morning Show starting at 5:30am on Monday morning to get the latest updates on (potential) school closures in your area.
