Who’s ready to get the party started this Canada Day?! We know we are!
From city-wide celebrations to at-home barbecues with friends and family… There are endless opportunities for Canadians and Montrealers to enjoy the country’s 155th birthday this year. For those looking to get out and celebrate with the rest of the city, here are some local events happening in Montreal that you can attend on Friday, July 1:
OLD PORT OF MONTREAL
The Old Port of Montreal is definitely going to be the place to be this Canada Day weekend… If you’re a fan of crowds, of course. Starting at 1pm, Montrealers are welcome to watch the opening ceremony with a 21-gun salute accompanied by the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP officers. Throughout the rest of the day, families can participate in face painting, temporary tattooing, Parks Canada games, and so on. The night will come to a close with a beautiful fireworks display happening at 9:45pm.
