You know you've made it in life when you get your very own DOLL attributed to you!
Brown Diva Dolls, an company offering dolls of all shapes, colours and sizes to help the new generation cultivate their self-esteem and accepting of others, has recently launched a new doll!
Honouring Dr. Bastiany, the first Black woman to become interventional cardiologist in Canada, this new doll promotes true confidence and leadership for young girls.
Dr. Alexandra Bastiany, the inspiration behind the doll, is one of our very own, as she completed her medical degree at the University of Montreal before completing her fellowship at the University of Alberta. "My journey has not been easy, and I think this doll will encourage young children of different ethnicities to follow their dreams as I did,” said Dr. Bastiany in an interview.
Not only does this new doll from Brown Diva Dolls highlight the importance of women in the medical industry, but it also helps celebrate Black History Month. Brown Diva Dolls truly hopes to "redefine the doll industry by creating beautiful and inclusive dolls that celebrate diversity" with their one-of-a-kind creations.
