Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi have been tapped to star in a new short film to promote Chanel's classic No. 5 fragrance.

The Barbie actress, who has been an ambassador for the French fashion house since 2018, has been appointed the new face of its most iconic perfume.

As part of her new role, Robbie stars alongside fellow Australian actor Elordi in a short film titled See You at 5, directed by Call Me by Your Name's Luca Guadagnino. However, they don't get to share the screen as the story revolves around a missed rendezvous.

"I think Chanel No. 5 is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world. It's incredible to be a part of it," the Oscar-nominated star told Harper's Bazaar about her new role. "There's such an impressive lineage of women who've been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honoured to be joining that long list of incredible talents."

The 34-year-old, who is expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley, follows in the footsteps of previous spokesmodels including Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, and Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel herself.

Robbie noted that she worked with Elordi before as a producer on his 2023 film Saltburn, however, they are still yet to act together.

"I haven't shared the screen with him before, but I know I've seen him on set, I've been around him on set, and he's just - he's got an incredible presence. He's a movie star - he's got that charisma. He holds a frame," she praised. "Even though the whole point of our film is that we cross paths and miss each other, it still felt like we did the campaign together."

The campaign film, See You at 5, will be released in October.
