Nicola Coughlan has urged fellow shoppers to ditch fast fashion.
The Irish actress has become a style star following a series of successful red carpet appearances, and earlier this year, she was booked by Kim Kardashian to model her underwear line SKIMS.
And in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine, Nicola admitted she used to buy a lot of cheap clothes, but now prefers to have fewer items that will last longer.
"I feel I look at clothes differently now. I also buy a lot less!" she explained. "We've all shopped fast fashion in our lives but I've really tried to stop doing it, because I just used to have mounds and mounds of bad clothes that I used to go through really quickly.
"I love going through my wardrobe and seeing clothes I love and I've had for five years. I feel that's the way we should be doing it," the 37-year-old continued.
Nicola revealed her change of heart was inspired by seeing how much work goes into creating the detailed outfits worn in hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton. This gave her a newfound "respect" for the fashion industry.
"Being in Bridgerton and seeing gowns being made has given me such a respect of the craft of fashion, and the artistry behind it," she shared.
Elsewhere in the interview, Nicola discussed her love of fashion and style.
The Derry Girls actress noted that experimenting with different clothes and trends has given her the freedom to be herself.
"Fashion is a beautiful form of self-expression," she smiled. "It can be like wearable art, or it can be armour. It can be anything you really want it to be. Fashion tells a story about who people are."
