Justin Trudeau steps down as Liberal Party Leader

In a statement from Rideau Cottage, Justin Trudeau announced that he will step down as leader of the Liberal Party. He shared that he intends to resign both as party leader and prime minister once a new leader is selected by the party. 

Trudeau will remain prime minister in a caretaker role until a successor is chosen.

In his speech, Trudeau expressed that the resilience, generosity, and determination of Canadians have been his driving force throughout his tenure, motivating his efforts to serve the country since 2015."
