In case you were wondering whether winter could get any colder this season… Well, it absolutely can!

A polar vortex is making its way to Eastern Canada, and Quebec is set to feel its full impact.

The cold snap will begin on Sunday, with daytime highs lingering in the negative teens. By Monday evening, temperatures will plunge further, reaching the -20s.

This marks the first time in two years that Montreal will experience such extreme cold, with Monday expected to hit a frigid -26°C and Tuesday dropping even further to -27°C.
