After a very, very long January (seriously, who else feels like January was its own year?!), we’re finally stepping into February, and you know what that means?! That’s right—La Poutine Week is back, baby!
For one delicious week, from February 1 to February 7, restaurants across the city will be reinventing this classic dish, serving up creative and mouthwatering takes that you won’t want to miss.
Of course, we couldn’t resist taking a sneak peek at some of the standout poutines on offer this year. Here are a few that we highly recommend trying:
La Bloody Québecoise
La Belle et la Boeuf
What makes this poutine stand out isn’t the rib pieces, the bacon, or even the Ojo Rojo spices… it’s the CELERY! Listen, does this technically count as a salad? Because we’ve got potatoes and celery (even if it’s just one lonely stalk—we’ll take it).
Loaded Hoagie Fries
Chez Simon - Time Out Market Montréal
Okay, first thing you need to know about Time Out Market: they have at least five different poutines worth trying during La Poutine Week. But what really caught our eye? The Loaded Hoagie Fries. Because… what do you mean instead of gravy, we get queso sauce?! Immediate must-try.
Pizzapoutine
Poutineville
Let’s be honest—if there’s one place that’s guaranteed to nail a Pizzapoutine, it’s Poutineville. Their classic poutine, but topped with melted mozzarella cheese and crispy, delicious pepperoni?! YES, PLEASE! Take a look right here for your own eyes!
Shawarma Deluxe and Garlic Supreme
Boustan
We’ll keep this one short because, well… Boustan’s iconic garlic potatoes topped with poutine condiments and garlic sauce?! Yeah, we’re already on our way.
Asian Tonkotsu Ramen Poutine
Le Gras Dur - Le Central
If there’s one thing we never thought we’d see together in the same sentence, it’s ramen and poutine. And for that reason alone—our curiosity is officially piqued.
