Well, it’s officially the end of an era for Montreal movie goers…
Montreal's Cinémas Guzzo will officially close its doors and be put up for sale following a Quebec Superior Court ordered the transfer of all the chair’s assets to a court-appointed trustee.
The decision gives Dominic Deslandes, the receiver managing the struggling cinema chain, the authority to shut down all remaining locations. Cinémas Guzzo has faced significant financial difficulties over the past few months, leading to the closure of three theatres since November, including the popular Marché Central location in January.
Despite the court’s latest order, the closures may not be permanent. As of now, Cinémas Guzzo has not issued any public statements regarding the court’s decision.
