With U.S. tariffs gradually being imposed on grocery products, Loblaw Companies Ltd. has introduced a new way to help customers identify which items will be affected.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, the company’s CEO and President, Per Bank, announced the creation of a "T" symbol to indicate tariff-impacted products, allowing shoppers to make informed choices at checkout.
Bank also warned that Canadians should expect to pay more for goods imported from the U.S. in the coming weeks. To assist customers, Loblaw will work to highlight alternative non-U.S. options wherever possible.
So, as you head to the grocery store in the next few weeks, keep an eye out for the "T" symbol—it might just help you avoid a higher grocery bill!
