Billie Eilish has described her classic green-and-black hairstyle as her most "personal and career-defining look".

The Bad Guy hitmaker has experimented with various hairstyles and colour combinations over the years, however, she believes her green-and-black look was the most unique and the one people picture when they think of her.

"Well, I really like to romanticise two specific periods in my life: the green roots and the red roots. Green-and-black especially felt like such a personal and career-defining look for me," she told Colman Domingo for British Vogue. "I felt so exactly who I was at that time. I'd never really seen anything like that before and it felt really nice to have something that felt like mine. That shade of green was like my colour for so long. I loved it so much. Hair, nails, clothes. It was such a magical period for me, and it was so intense. I felt like I was becoming who I am."

Later in the interview, the Birds of a Feather singer named the look "The Billie."

The 23-year-old rocked her signature hairstyle from 2019 and 2021 while promoting her breakout debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and changed it up for her second album, Happier Than Ever.

Reflecting on her outfits in the early days of her career, Billie admitted she cringes when looking back at some of her fashion moments.

She continued, "But I do have to give myself credit for always going so hard. I wore like actual bouncy balls with straps on the bottom of my shoes once... But again: I committed to the bit and I regret nothing."
