Studies at the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago suggest that sipping a cup of peppermint tea and sucking on a peppermint candy (or candy cane) will help alleviate that sudden urge to dig into a fatty treat. According to the research, this trick has helped women shed one pound a week before and after Christmas.
And the reason is simple: Peppermint stimulates the brain’s satiety center, which helps you feel genuinely full on far less food.
