Chappell Roan has opened up about the increasingly bizarre actions of some of her fans as her star power continues to rise.

The 26-year-old pop star has been releasing music since 2017 but it wasn't until the release of her debut album last year that she started to rise in the music ranks.

Since then, the Red Wine Supernova singer has seen her popularity increase even higher thanks to scene-stealing performances at festivals like Coachella and her latest single, Good Luck, Babe!, cracking the top 10.

But with increased success comes increased attention and Chappell, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, fears she's hit a career snag.

Speaking to the Comment Section podcast, the American singer said, "People have started to be freaks - like, (they) follow me and know where my parents live, and where my sister works. All this weird s**t."

Chappell was then reminded that she previously vowed to quit the spotlight if fans began to exhibit stalker-esque behaviour.

She replied, "We're there. We're there!"

However, she continued, "I'm just kind of in this battle... I've pumped the brakes on, honestly, anything to make me more known. It's kind of a forest fire right now. I'm not trying to go do a bunch of s**t."

Chappell's debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, was released in September 2023, but didn't begin to chart in the UK until April this year and only last week rose to number 5 in the charts.
